In order to assess the effectiveness of a curriculum in early childhood classrooms, schools will often use assessments and portfolios to track children’s progress. The information collected helps teachers make informed decisions about the best way to support each child’s development.
Rainbow Child Care Center wants to make sure we capture your child’s developmental milestones and achievements. In order to accomplish our goal, we have developed a Child Assessment Portfolio System to track your child’s progress. Our system provides visual evidence of your child’s growth, and the best part is the portfolio is out in your child’s classroom and readily available, so you can view it anytime!
Our assessment method works because it is appropriate for all children. It is a strengths-based tool, meaning rather than focusing on what your child can’t do, we focus on what they can do and use the knowledge they already have to help them advance. We use the Child Assessment Portfolio System in combination with the Norm-Referenced Screening tool to assess our program’s effectiveness, track your child’s progress, and plan lessons based on the results of the information we have collected.
Our Child Assessment Portfolio System will ensure your child is ready for Kindergarten success and provide your family with an opportunity to be involved in your child’s learning process.
