Spring Cleaning

The birds have started chirping, the days are getting longer, the weather is getting warmer; it must be Spring. You and your child have been cooped up all winter so be sure to take advantage of the warmer days to come. Here at Rainbow Child Care Center we are excited about Spring too and with Spring also comes… Spring Cleaning.

The burden of all those chores and tasks do not need to fall on you alone, get your child involved in the process! This is also a great time to talk to your child about donating items to families in need. Have your child help you go through their clothes and toys. Create two boxes one for throwing away broken toys or clothes that are damaged and one for donating toys and clothes that have been outgrown. Help your child find a place for all of their favorite items that they want to keep. Your child can help with other tasks around the house too! Make it fun by playing music. Can you dance and sweep at the same time? What about dance and wash windows? You can also make it fun by turning it into a game. Who can find the most coins in the couch? Who can organize a shelf of books or movies the fastest?

When all your Spring cleaning has been done, consider planning a fun activity (outside of your clean house) to enjoy with your child. Go for a hike and talk about all of the changes you can see in nature or go to the park and fly a kite. Now that the house is clean, maybe you can tackle some of those outside chores with your child next week! Who doesn’t love getting muddy in the garden?Spring Cleaning
